Director Lee is a renowned expert in the field of convergence arts. He has spearheaded creative research and production that integrates state-of-the-art technologies—such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Spatial Computing—into media content through the AT Lab under the K-ARTS Convergence Arts Center.

Under his leadership, AT Lab has successfully executed numerous R&D projects in collaboration with organizations like the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), focusing on the development of AI-based interdisciplinary content and the nurturing of specialized talent. The lab’s international competitiveness has been consistently recognized through the presentation of AI-driven works and research at prestigious global platforms, including the Venice International Film Festival, Ars Electronica, Jeju AI International Film Festival, and the Seoul Guro International AI Film Festa (SGAFF).

The National AI Strategy Commission serves as the highest-level "control tower" for South Korea's AI policy. It is a joint public-private body responsible for establishing pan-governmental AI strategies and coordinating major policies and projects. Officially launched in September 2025, the commission currently operates eight subcommittees.

  ● Technological Innovation & Infrastructure

  ● Industrial AI Transformation (AX) & Ecosystem

  ● Public AX

  ● Data

  ● Society

  ● Global Cooperation

Additionally, three task forces (TF) have been established to address education, security, and regional development.

With this appointment, Director Lee is expected to leverage his extensive field experience, creative vision, and artistic perspective accumulated at AT Lab to inform the formulation of national AI policies. His involvement is anticipated to significantly bolster the global competitiveness of Korea's advanced K-content.
