The Korea National University of Arts (KARTS, President Daejin Kim) and the Korea Foundation (KF, President Gheewhan Kim) are officially embarking on a joint partnership to create, utilize, and globally introduce immersive digital cultural content.
As the first major fruit of this collaboration, KARTS AT Lab (Director Seung-Mu Lee) will premiere two pioneering works at the 5th Public Diplomacy Week (November 18–20 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza, DDP): the brand-new VR experience SAMUL and the newly upgraded interactive metaverse performance SCARECROW AP.
Visitors to the event will have the unique opportunity to experience these globally acclaimed productions firsthand—where tradition meets modernity, and reality intersects with the virtual world.
Featured Works
SCARECROW AP
An immersive metaverse XR experience inspired by the universally familiar figure of the scarecrow. The work has earned widespread international acclaim, receiving invitations and awards from premier events such as the Sundance Film Festival and the Raindance Film Festival, with Forbes hailing it as "one of the best digital experiences ever." This newly enhanced edition features interactive elements allowing audience participation.
SAMUL
A new immersive VR work that utilizes volumetric capture technology to reimagine a performance by legendary Korean traditional musician Kim Duk-soo. Following its world premiere at the Raindance Film Festival in the UK last October, it drew substantial praise from both local audiences and critics.

Both works are featured as part of the Korea Foundation's immersive digital showcase, "Every Wall Is a Door."
